Aichi Prefecture's Inuyama Festival, registered as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, features 13 large three-tiered floats that are eight meters high. Under boughs laden with cherry blossoms, loud cheers and the sound of Japanese flutes and drums could be heard as the floats were drawn past Inuyama Castle, itself designated a national treasure.
