Along the Kurashiki River in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, about 1,000 early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms are in full bloom, creating an early spring scene. The trees were planted by locals over three years starting in 2006. Due to this year's warmer days, the trees began to bloom in late February, about a week earlier than usual.
