Measuring the crunchiness of persimmons

Gifu Prefectural Agricultural Technology Center teamed up with Hiroshima University to create a device that measures the texture of persimmons without damaging the fruit.
The "Tenkafubu" is a premium brand of persimmon characterized by high sugar content and a crunchy texture. But there has been no standard for fruit texture, and that raised concerns about the brand value taking a hit if the quality wasn't consistent.
