Kawasaki Rika

NHK NEWSLINE anchor Kawasaki Rika worked in NHK’s Kagawa and Osaka bureaus before moving to the Tokyo headquarters. She’s covered diplomatic stories, including the G20 Summit, as well as political and social issues such as discrimination against people with disabilities. Rika spent her childhood in the U.S. (Mississippi, Michigan, and Tennessee), giving her a multicultural outlook. In addition to NHK NEWSLINE, she anchors the domestic NEWS 7 program in Japanese on weekends and national holidays.
