Russia's chief of general staff inspects robotic weapons systems in Donetsk

Russia's top uniformed commander has visited the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk and inspected robotic weapons used in military operations there.

Russia's defense ministry said on Tuesday that Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov visited a command post and commended troops for retaking the village of Urozhaine.

The village had been under Ukrainian control since last August. The Russian side says it won back the area on Sunday.

Footage released by Russia shows Gerasimov inspecting robotic weapons systems, including one shaped like a battle tank.

Moscow is apparently trying to highlight its combat capabilities, as fighting rages on in eastern Ukraine.
