Kyiv children's hospital partially reopens a week after Russian missile attack

A key pediatric hospital in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv has partially resumed medical services one week after suffering extensive damage in a Russian missile attack.

Flowers and stuffed animals were placed at the hospital entrance on Monday. Photographs of doctors and other victims were on display at the site where the missile is thought to have struck.

Work is continuing to rebuild the facility, with heavy equipment being used to clear debris on the hospital grounds.

A man said he had brought his 5-year-old daughter to the hospital the day before the attack. He said he does not know what the rules of war are if you hit a children's hospital where children are being saved and given life.

The girl's mother said that as a parent she found the attack very scary.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated on July 9 that 400 million hryvnias, or about 9.6 million dollars, would be allocated to rebuild the hospital.

More than 40 people across Ukraine were killed in attacks on July 8.
