Japan's Prime Minister Kishida Fumio has congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as Iran's next president.
Kishida expressed hope for Iran to play a constructive role toward peace and stability of the Middle East, and to advance harmony with other countries.
He added that he hopes to closely cooperate with Pezeshkian.
