Netanyahu stresses commitment to fighting in Gaza until goals achieved

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his commitment to fighting against Hamas in the Gaza Strip until all of Israel's objectives are achieved, including eliminating the group.

Israeli forces continued their offensive across Gaza on Sunday. Local media reported that four people died in the northern part of the territory and that agricultural lands were destroyed there.

Health authorities in Gaza say that the number of deaths in the enclave has risen to 37,877 since fighting began last October.

Netanyahu said Israeli forces are operating in Shejaiya in the north, Rafah in the south, and "everywhere in the Gaza Strip." He also said, "Dozens of terrorists are being eliminated every day."

Netanyahu stressed that Israel will not end the war until all of their goals are achieved, including eliminating Hamas and returning all hostages.

In an interview with Israeli media in late June the prime minister said that the intense phase of fighting in the Gaza Strip is about to end. But the military operation is ongoing and the number of casualties continues to rise.

In the Israeli-occupied West Bank, local authorities said one man was killed and five others wounded in an airstrike.

Clashes have also intensified in recent weeks between Israel and Hezbollah, a Shia militant group in neighboring Lebanon, adding to the heightened tensions.
