Zelenskyy mentions 'comprehensive plan' by year's end to end conflict

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has indicated that a plan to end the conflict with Russia will be prepared by the end of this year.

He said on Friday in Kyiv that "it is very important for us to show a plan to end the war that will be supported by the majority of the world."

Zelenskyy stressed the importance of resisting the Russian aggression by force, while preparing the plan for peace.

He said that "to be strong on the battlefield and to develop a clear, detailed plan" should be done in parallel.

He did not talk about the details. There is speculation that the plan could spark discussions at future gatherings of international leaders on bringing peace to Ukraine.

Russia, on the other hand, is demanding that Ukraine withdraw its forces from the four regions that Moscow unilaterally annexed as a condition for starting peace talks.
