Floods kill at least 85 people in Afghanistan

Floods from heavy rains that hit Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province Thursday and Friday have killed at least 85 people.

Video taken on Friday shows muddy water rushing into residential areas and violently engulfing buildings.

Local authorities under the Taliban interim government said hundreds of buildings were destroyed or washed away.

The government and local officials have dispatched rescue teams to search for missing people.

Heavy rains that hit the country last month killed at least 70 people and damaged more than 2,000 buildings.
