MLB star Ohtani's ex-interpreter agrees to plead guilty to federal charges

The US Justice Department says the former interpreter for Major League Baseball star Ohtani Shohei has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges of bank fraud and submitting a false tax return.

The department announced on Wednesday that Mizuhara Ippei is accused of illegally transferring nearly 17 million dollars from Ohtani's bank account to pay off his own gambling debts.
