Ohtani's 11th homer of the season puts him at top of MLB tally

Major League Baseball star player Ohtani Shohei has belted his 11th home run of the season, putting him at the top of the homer tally in both the American and National leagues.

The Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter stepped up to the plate, batting second in the order, at the home game in Los Angeles against the Miami Marlins on Monday.

At his first at-bat in the first inning, Ohtani tied the score with a two-run homer. He has now hit home runs in three consecutive games.

Ohtani went two-for-three with two RBIs and one walk at the plate and stole a base twice. His multiple hits in three consecutive games lifted his batting average to .370.

By the end of Monday's games, Ohtani led not just the MLB homer tally, but also in hit counts, batting average, slugging percentage and OPS, a statistic that combines a slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
