Landmark Osaka tower completed

A new landmark tower has just been completed outside Osaka Station. The facility is part of a redevelopment project that comes as Osaka prepares to host the World Expo next year.

The 39-floor JP Tower Osaka opened its doors to the media on Wednesday.

The building is packed with amenities, including a gym and sauna that are exclusive to people working in the offices.

Commercial facilities set to open in July will occupy the basement to sixth floors. The upper floors will be a hotel.

The building is part of a station cityscape that's changing as the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka approaches.

Another office building with direct access to the station's west gate is due to open later this year. Part of a large park and a hotel will also open in September north of the station.
