Prabowo seeks unity in victory speech

Indonesia's president-elect Prabowo Subianto has called for unity to bring about prosperity and justice in Indonesia.

Prabowo gave his victory speech in Jakarta after the election commission confirmed his win in the presidential election held last month.

He said that while respecting differences in opinion, people must unite as the country faces poverty and other major challenges.

He stressed that he and his vice president will work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia.

Prabowo also renewed his pledge to uphold incumbent President Joko Widodo's policies, saying he will make the most of the strong foundation the president has built, especially on the economic front.

He stressed that he will work hard to bring results swiftly to the Indonesian people.
