New York City subway station shooting kills 1, injures 5

One person has died and five others were injured in a shooting at a New York City subway station on Monday. Police are searching for a suspect who fled the scene.

Two groups of teenagers are said to have been arguing on the train. The police said at least one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting as the train arrived at a station and the doors opened. The police said the passengers fled onto the platform where more shots were fired. They say a 34-year-old man has died and the other victims were 5 men and women ranging in age from their teens to their 70s.

The shooting occurred at an aboveground station in the Bronx on a subway line linking the city center to the suburbs.
