Hong Kong police put activist Agnes Chow on wanted list

Police in Hong Kong said they have put pro-democracy activist Agnes Chow on a wanted list after she did not report to police as required.

Police on Tuesday announced their action against Chow, who is staying in Canada.

Chow was arrested in 2020 on suspicion of collusion with external elements to undermine national security.

She was later granted bail on condition that she report to police regularly.

But Chow disclosed on social media in early December that she is staying in Toronto and won't go back to Hong Kong, where she was due to present herself to police on December 28.

Chow is one of many pro-democracy activists who have left Hong Kong after the introduction of the territory's national security law that cracks down on movements critical of the Chinese government.

Police have put 13 activists living abroad on a wanted list.
