Transport service providers bracing for possible heavy snow in greater Tokyo

Transport services will be disrupted in Tokyo and the Kanto-Koshin region, as heavy snow is forecast from Monday.

Japan Airlines has canceled 32 flights to and from Tokyo's Haneda Airport from Monday afternoon. All Nippon Airways has canceled 30 flights.

East Nippon Expressway says it will ban vehicles equipped with summer tires from using its toll roads from Monday morning.

The company is urging drivers to use winter tires and bring snow chains with them.

Operators say they may close sections of the Chuo, Tomei and Shin-Tomei and other expressways on Monday depending on the weather.

Railway operators in the greater Tokyo area are warning that train services may be significantly delayed or canceled.
