Authorities in Sweden have destroyed a "dangerous object" found at the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm. They said on Friday that it may have been part of a failed "terrorist crime."
Staff at the embassy found the object on Wednesday. Local media outlets are reporting that it is believed to be a hand grenade. Swedish security officials said the incident was an "attempt to cause public destruction." No one was hurt and no damage was reported.
People in Israel, and Jews around the world, have been facing increasing threats in the wake of the fighting in Gaza. The Israeli ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nevo Kulman, thanked the authorities for their quick response and said he and his staff "will not be intimidated by terror."
