Japan Post resumes parcel services in 3 areas in Ishikawa

The massive earthquake in central Japan on New Year's Day forced a halt to parcel services in seven municipalities in Ishikawa Prefecture. But on Friday, Japan Post resumed accepting packages to be delivered to Nanao City, Shika Town and Nakanoto Town.

Japan Post says it can handle parcels sent to those areas because road repairs are progressing and the post office branches there now have the space to store them.
It is also accepting packages to be sent from the three municipalities.

However, parcel services remain suspended in the other four municipalities -- Suzu, Wajima, Anamizu and Noto.
