Car crashes into barricade outside Israeli Embassy in Tokyo, driver arrested

Police in Tokyo say a car crashed into a barricade in front of the Israeli Embassy in the Japanese capital on Thursday.

The incident happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. One police officer was injured.

The police arrested the driver, who is over 50, on suspicion of obstructing public order. The suspect is believed to be a member of a right-wing group.

The police said the vehicle came to a halt on the side of the road after pushing back the barricade.
