Japanese defense ministry official denies sexual harassment allegation

Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Miyake Shingo has denied an allegation of his sexual harassment.

Weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun's article released on-line on Wednesday accused him of sexually harassing a staff member of his office 10 years ago.

Miyake told reporters at the defense ministry on the same day that he has no recollection at all, denying the allegation.

The politician said he has told the magazine the report is not true and plans to issue a statement to protest the allegation. Miyake added he will provide an explanation at some other time.
