Palestine Red Crescent Society: Humanitarian convoy hit by fire in Gaza

The Palestine Red Crescent Society says a convoy carrying medical supplies came under attack in Gaza on Tuesday, as Israel advanced its ground offensive.

The society posted a message on social media. It reported that the convoy of five trucks and two International Committee of the Red Cross vehicles was "hit by fire."

The Palestine Red Crescent Society says the trucks and vehicles were carrying lifesaving medical supplies to health facilities, including the society's Al Quds hospital.

It says two trucks were damaged and a driver was slightly wounded.

The organization released a statement on Monday. It said, "The Palestine Red Crescent Society urgently appeals to international health and relief organizations to provide essential aid and supplies to the Gaza governorate and the northern region."
