Zelenskyy stresses war achievements ahead of UN General Assembly

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stressed his military's recent achievements in the war against Russia, ahead of his appearance at the UN General Assembly.

In a video address, Zelenskyy praised his country's navy and security service for destroying a Russian air defense system in Crimea, which Moscow unilaterally annexed in 2014. He called the destruction "a very significant achievement."

Ukraine's military also announced that it had recaptured the village of Andriivka about 10 kilometers south of the embattled city of Bakhmut in the eastern region of Donetsk.

A Ukrainian commander wrote on social media that liberating Andriivka means his forces have "full control over the railroad" which he says will allow them to surround Bakhmut.

In his video address, Zelenskyy called the recapture of the village "a significant and much-needed result for Ukraine".
