Industrial production in China grew in August by 4.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
The growth is greater than the 3.7 percent recorded in July.
The National Bureau of Statistics released the latest figures on Friday.
Although exports continued to decline, automobile production increased amid growing domestic demand for electric vehicles.
On the other hand, retail sales also grew by 4.6 percent in August compared to the same month last year, due mainly to an increase in demand for leisure activities. This was the first summer holiday season since strict anti-coronavirus measures were lifted in the country.
