US warns North Korea against supplying Russia with arms

A White House National Security Council spokesperson has urged North Korea to abide by the public commitments that it has made to not provide or sell arms to Russia.

The spokesperson said arms discussions between the two countries are expected to continue during North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's trip to Russia.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said any transfer of arms from North Korea to Russia would be in violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions. He added that the US will not hesitate to impose new sanctions.

Defense Department Press Secretary Patrick Ryder said Washington will keep a close eye on the developments.
