Kim Jong Un's anniversary event photos released, no word on Russia trip

North Korea's state-run television has aired footage of a photo session at an event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the country's founding.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had a photo shoot with the participants at the event on Saturday. On Sunday, the state-run TV broadcast footage of Kim and others posing for photos in front of the palace where his grandfather Kim Il Sung and his father Kim Jong Il are laid to rest.

The footage shows Kim in a suit approaching the attendees, waving at them and shaking hands. He was seen posing at the center in the front row.

Meanwhile, Pyongyang remains mum about speculation that leader Kim Jong Un will visit Russia for the first time in four years and meet with President Vladimir Putin.

When Kim visited Russia in 2019, North Korea's state media reported the day before that he was going to Russia soon. It then reported on the morning of the visit that Kim had departed on a special train.
