North Korea says a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Liu Guozhong will take part in the upcoming celebrations to mark the country's 75th anniversary.
The visit was reported in Thursday's edition of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun.
North Korea celebrates its founding day on September 9.
The Chinese delegation is expected to watch a military parade on Saturday.
China sent a delegation to Pyongyang in July for the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice. It was headed by Li Hongzhong, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
A Russian delegation led by Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu also attended the same event.
Diplomatic sources say Russia is expected to send a delegation to Saturday's parade as well.
North Korea is apparently aiming to showcase its unity with China and Russia to counter the United States' alliance with Japan and South Korea.
