The United Sates has condemned North Korea's launch of ballistic missiles and stressed its ''ironclad'' commitment to Japan and South Korea.
North Korea launched two ballistic missiles late on Wednesday.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters; "This launch is in violation of multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions and possesses a threat to the DPRK's neighbors and international community."
The US Indo-Pacific Command also condemned North Korea. It said in a statement, "While we have assessed that this event does not pose an immediate threat to US personnel or territory, or to our allies, the missile launch highlights the destabilizing impact of the DPRK's illicit weapons program."
It stressed its firm involvement in Japan and South Korea, saying "The US commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan remains ironclad."
