German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Sunday that the fact that the G7 leaders are talking about peace and security in a concrete way at such a symbolic place as Hiroshima is "more than right."
Scholz said "the message remains Russia must withdraw troops."
He noted it is important that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Hiroshima not only to talk with the G7 leaders, but also with many countries from the Global South that are attending the summit.
Scholz said "a whole new intensity of talks is taking place."
