Turkish presidential runoff election to be held on May 28

Turkey's election administration committee announced on Monday that a presidential runoff election will be held on May 28.

Sunday's race was contested mainly between incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who is supported by six opposition parties.

The election committee said neither Erdogan nor Kilicdaroglu cleared the 50-percent threshold needed to avoid a second round.
