N.Korea says it test-fired two ballistic missiles on Tuesday

North Korea says it test-fired two ground-to-ground strategic ballistic missiles from the country's southwest on Tuesday.

The ruling Workers' Party's newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported on Wednesday that the missiles were fired from South Hwanghae Province for troop training purposes.

The paper said the missiles flew 611 kilometers and hit a targeted island in the northeast.

South Korea's military on Tuesday morning said that the North launched two short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea off its east coast.

The report by North Korean state media is believed to refer to these missiles.
