NATO's secretary general says it cannot be ruled out that the besieged city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine may fall in the coming days despite the big losses attacking Russian forces have suffered.
Jens Stoltenberg made the remark at a news conference in Sweden on Wednesday.
Russian forces have intensified their assault on Bakhmut, which is one of the strongholds of Ukrainian forces.
Stoltenberg stressed the need for continued support for Ukraine, saying, "This does not necessarily reflect any turning point of the war and it just highlights that we should not underestimate Russia."
