Japanese soccer star Honda Keisuke, a former member of Japan's national squad, will resign as general manager of the Cambodian national team.
The Football Federation of Cambodia made the announcement on Wednesday.
Honda took the role in August 2018 and had his debut match as the effective coach of the national squad the following month. It is unusual for a soccer player to coach a national team while playing professionally.
The federation says his final duty as general manager is to provide training in February for the country's Under 22 squad in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in May.
The federation expresses its deep gratitude to Honda for having spared time and contributed to Cambodia's national team since 2018.
