Asian currencies take hit in sell-off

Asian currencies weakened sharply against the dollar on Thursday, the result of a massive sell-off triggered by another big rate rise by the US Federal Reserve.

The Indian rupee and the Philippine peso briefly hit new lows against the dollar.

At one point the Thai baht was trading at its lowest level in about 16 years. And the South Korean won briefly dipped to its lowest point in more than 13 years.
