Macron criticizes Putin's decision to call for partial mobilization

French President Emmanuel Macron has criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to call for partial mobilization.

Macron spoke to reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

He said he deeply regrets Putin's decision that would "drag his country, in particular the youth of his country, into the war."

Macron called for a ceasefire and peace. He also expressed hope saying that everyone can now put the maximum pressure on Putin to stop the war, which he described as no longer making any sense.
