The Japan Railway group says Shinkansen bullet trains are operating normally on Tuesday morning, but there could be some delays and cancelations due to Severe Tropical Storm Nanmadol.
Services on the Sanyo Shinkansen line resumed on Tuesday, but there may be some delays as the trains are running at slower speeds.
The JR group says the Tohoku, Hokuriku, Joetsu, Tokaido, and Kyushu Shinkansen trains are operating normally.
The storm is disrupting domestic flights.
Japan Airlines has canceled 43 flights and All Nippon Airways has canceled 30 flights for Tuesday.
Other airlines have also canceled some services, mainly on routes serving the Kyushu and Kansai regions.
