Major convenience store outlets in Nanmadol-hit regions closed on Monday

Three major convenience store chains have announced that outlets in regions affected by Severe Tropical Storm Nanmadol will remain closed on Monday.

Seven-Eleven Japan disclosed that as of 9 a.m. on Monday, some 2,400 outlets in the Kyushu, Chugoku, Shikoku and Kansai regions were either shut down or expected to be shut down.

Family Mart had closed 1,160 stores, mainly in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions, as of 8 a.m.

Lawson had closed about 1,000 outlets in the Kyushu, Chugoku and Shikoku regions as of 9 a.m.

All the chains say there were no reports of casualties or damage as of 11 a.m. on Monday.
They say the number of outlets closed or to be shut down may change, depending on the course of Nanmadol and other factors.
