Ohtani earns 13th win, ties Babe Ruth

In Major League Baseball, Japanese two-way star Ohtani Shohei of the Los Angeles Angels marked his 13th win of the season as a pitcher, tying Babe Ruth's wins in 1918. In that year, Ruth achieved double-digit wins and home runs in a single season. Ohtani marked the same feat this season.

Ohtani was the starting pitcher batting 3rd for the game against Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Ohtani at his first at bat with one man on base, hit a RBI double to leftfield.

In addition to helping himself at bat, Ohtani was in command on the mound. He did not allow the Mariners to advance to second base.

Ohtani pitched 7 innings, striking out 8 batters and allowing no runs.

The Angels beat the Mariners 2 to 1.
