Japanese airlines cancel flights as Typhoon Nanmadol approaches

Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways have canceled at least 504 flights that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from airports in Japan on Sunday, as Typhoon Nanmadol approaches the southwestern main island of Kyushu.

Japan Airlines has canceled 298 flights that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from airports on Sunday, mainly in Shikoku and Kyushu.

All Nippon Airways has canceled 206 flights that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from airports in Kyushu, Yamaguchi Prefecture and elsewhere on Sunday, and 19 such flights on Monday.

Other airlines are also canceling flights, including those that had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from Kyushu or Shikoku into Monday.

Airlines are calling on customers to check their websites for possible further changes in services.
