Major League Baseball star Ohtani Shohei has reached two batting milestones.
In a game against the Houston Astros on Sunday, he raised his total runs batted in to 501 and scored his 800th hit including those from his professional career in Japan.
His two-run homer on Sunday brought the Japanese slugger's season total to 34. The blast had an exit velocity of 161.7 kilometers per hour.
Ohtani, a two-way star as a pitcher and hitter, is tied with Los Angeles Angels teammate Mike Trout in second place in the American League home-run standings.
A ground-rule double in the Astros game was Ohtani's 800th career hit, with 504 of them coming in his seasons at the Angels.
Ohtani started at the Angels in 2018 after playing for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Japanese professional baseball.
