Ohtani blasts out 2 homers to help Angels beat Tigers

Japanese two-way star Ohtani Shohei hit two homers to power the Los Angeles Angels to a 10-0 win against the Detroit Tigers in Anaheim, California on Monday.

Ohtani started the game as a designated hitter, batting third. He hit a double in his first inning.

Ohtani, second at bat in the third inning with one man on base, homered to right field, making his 31st home run of the season.

At his fourth at bat in the seventh inning, Ohtani blasted a dinger to left center field for home run number 32. It was also his 500th hit in the Majors.

As of the end of Monday, Ohtani with 32 home runs, ranks second for home runs in the American League, trailing Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees, who marked his 54th home run of the season on Monday.
