Four injured in school bus collision near Tokyo

A high school bus and a mini-vehicle have collided in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo. Four people were rushed to hospital.

Police and firefighters say the driver of the mini-vehicle is unconscious and in serious condition. Three injured students were reportedly conscious when taken to hospital.

Police say the collision occurred on a prefectural road in the city of Sakuragawa on Monday morning.

The bus was operated by Iwase Nihon University High School and was carrying more than 10 people, including the driver.

Police are looking into the cause of the accident. They say the road has one lane on each side and the collision occurred on a straight section.
