Leg injury keeps Osaka away from Wimbledon

Japanese tennis player Osaka Naomi has withdrawn from Wimbledon with a leg injury.

Organizers of the Wimbledon championship updated the entry list on Saturday to reflect Osaka's withdrawal.

Former world number one Osaka is now ranked 43.

After she had been eliminated in the round of 32 in the Madrid Open in early May, she revealed she felt pain in her left Achilles tendon.

Osaka lost to Amanda Anisimova of the United States in the first round in the French Open later in the month.

She is not taking part in a tour in Germany this month.

Osaka has posted in her Twitter account "my Achilles still isn't right so I'll see you next time."
