Zelenskyy appeals for faster supply of weapons to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed for a faster supply of weapons to help his nation "liberate" territories occupied by Russia.

Zelenskyy was speaking in a video address to the American Jewish Committee on Sunday.

Referring to his latest daily update, Zelenskyy said that the number of children killed in Ukraine jumped by 24 to 287.

He voiced concern over the lack of information about what was happening in regions of Ukraine currently occupied by Russian troops.

He said, "Tell me why is this happening in 2022?" He added, "How could mass killings, torture, burned cities, filtration camps set up by the Russian military in the occupied territories, which resemble Nazi concentration camps, become a reality?"

The president warned, "Russia still has the power to hope to continue the war against Ukraine, against people and ignore the world's reaction."

He thanked the American Jewish Committee for its extensive help, but underlined the need for greater support.

He said, "We need powerful weapons for the offensive, without which the war will only drag on and the number of victims will increase."

He added, "I know that your help is already significant. But you can use even more of your influence."
