Beloved S.Korean music show host dies at 95

People in South Korea are mourning the loss of one of their most beloved entertainers. Song Hae died on Wednesday at age 95. He was the oldest TV show host in the country.

Song had been the face of Sunday afternoon as the presenter of a nationwide singing contest show for more than 30 years. His cheerful demeanor was loved by the audience, and gave the program popularity across the country.

In 2003, he hosted a special edition of the show in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. It was co-produced by South Korea's public broadcaster and North Korean state TV.

Song was born in 1927 in what is now North Korea.
He fled to the South during the Korean War. He began his career in show business in his 20s.

In April, he was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the oldest host of a TV music talent show.
