Ukraine warns it will reject agreements that do not consider its interests

The Ukrainian government has warned that it will reject any agreements that do not take into account the country's interests, ahead of talks between the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey.

Ukraine's foreign ministry issued a statement on its website on Tuesday.

The statement says Ukraine is working together with the United Nations and other partners to establish a humanitarian corridor for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.

It adds that the possibility of Russia using such a corridor to attack Odesa and other parts of southern Ukraine cannot be ruled out.

It calls for effective security guarantees to restore vessel navigation.

Ukraine's foreign ministry expresses appreciation for Turkey's efforts aimed at unblocking Ukrainian ports.

But the statement stresses that decisions must be made with the participation of all parties involved, expressing a sense of wariness that Russia and Turkey may advance negotiations without Ukraine.
