At least four people killed after train derails in Germany

A train has derailed in southern Germany, killing at least four people and injuring about 30 others.

The accident occurred on Friday several kilometers from the station in the resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Local media say the train was heading for Munich, and that three cars came off the tracks.

Images show multiple cars overturned, and rescue operations underway.

Details such as whether there were foreign nationals on board are not yet known.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located near the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. The area is popular with tourists.
