Ex-princess, spouse to leave Japan for US Sunday

Informed sources say newlywed former Princess Mako and her husband Komuro Kei plan to leave Japan for the United States on Sunday. Mako is the eldest daughter of Crown Prince and Crown Princess Akishino.

The sources say the Komuros are scheduled to depart from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to set up home in New York State. Komuro Kei is a clerk at a law firm in the state.

The couple tied the knot on October 26 and spoke at a news conference later that day.

After moving into a condominium in Tokyo, they have been making preparations for their new life in the US, such as acquiring a passport and visa for Mako.

The couple also attended the funeral of Mako's grandfather, who died on November 4.
