Tokyo hotel offers special 'quarantine package'

Many hotels in Japan are struggling with low customer numbers due to the coronavirus pandemic. But that could change, now that the self-quarantine period for international business travelers has been reduced from 10 days to three.

One hotel in Tokyo is offering a special deal.

The Shinjuku Prince has a package that includes four nights' stay and three meals a day. That means guests don't need to leave the hotel during their quarantine period.

They also get PCR test kits, since reporting to the government is mandatory.

Guests can bring their test samples to a clinic inside the hotel and receive the results by smartphone.

The package is priced from around 500 dollars to just over 600 dollars per person, including PCR testing and meals.
