Climate activists protest outside COP26 venue

A group of climate activists has rallied against the use of fossil fuels outside the venue of the COP26 summit in Glasgow, Britain.

US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson were among the leaders who arrived for the meeting on Monday.

The group of about 30 activists raised banners and urged the leaders to shift course. They shouted "No" to digging up more fossil fuels that pollute the environment.

The protesters included young people from Japan, including high school student Fukushiro Minori.

Fukushiro said she doesn't want the world leaders to waste time by engaging in meaningless discussions.

She said she hopes they'll consider what must be done to keep the average rise in global temperatures within 1.5 degrees Celsius because time is running out.
